When fish are active, you can slide the Glideslider closer to the hook and position it with the sharper end facing downward. This makes the action faster, and after unhooking a fish, the jig returns more quickly to the fish below.

When attracting the first fish to the hole, you can flip the jig so that the blunt end faces downward. This creates a wider, more visible swimming action that attracts fish even from a distance. Once a school gathers, you can turn the sharp end downward to speed up fishing—especially in deeper spots.

Instructions for using the Glideslider

1. Thread the two silicone tubes (included) onto your line
2. Tie the mormyshka onto the line
3. Insert the pins at the end of the Glideslider into the silicone tubes
4. You can now adjust the position of the Glideslider by sliding it along the line

In good feeding conditions, keep the Glideslider close to the mormyshka. When the bite is slow, move it farther away.

Bait and technique

Traditionally, maggots are used as bait on the mormyshka—often more than one. Bloodworm is also an excellent option due to its strong natural scent and because it’s a natural food source for perch.

You should also try Norolan’s shrimp-scented artificial maggots. A proven setup for larger perch is 2–3 artificial maggots combined with 1–2 real maggots. This way, the durable artificial bait stays on the hook while the real maggot adds natural scent.

There are countless jigging techniques. Stirring up the bottom, subtle vibrations, and lifting motions are among the most popular—but sometimes it pays off to keep the jig completely still.
